Our Ethos
Our name is drawn from Sir Ernest Shackleton’s 1914 Antarctic expedition — a story not of a perfect voyage, but of leadership, resilience, and a crew that refused to stop moving forward.
At Endurance Recovery House, we believe recovery is much the same: a steady, courageous walk through difficult terrain, made possible by structure, community, and the quiet strength of showing up every day.

About
Every element of daily life at Endurance is designed to protect recovery and prepare residents for meaningful, independent living.
Clear expectations, curfews, house responsibilities and routines that build daily discipline.
A brotherhood of peers walking the same path — supportive, honest, and steady.
Regular check-ins, drug testing, and house meetings that keep recovery honest.
A foundation for long-term sobriety through self-help meeting engagement and personal growth.

About the Residence
Endurance Recovery House is open to anyone who is committed to maintaining their recovery and building a stable, independent life. Whether you are transitioning from residential treatment or simply recognize that a change in environment would support your recovery, Endurance provides a comfortable place to call home. Residents have access to shared living spaces, multiple TVs for movies and sports, comfortable beds, in-home laundry, and a fully equipped kitchen. Overnight house management provides additional structure and accountability while residents work toward their individual goals.
Life at Endurance is built around establishing a healthy routine and taking responsibility for the next steps in recovery. Residents are expected to pursue employment, volunteer work, education, or continued treatment while regularly participating in self-help meetings such as AA or NA. Everyone also contributes to maintaining the home through basic housekeeping, helping create a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for the entire community. Meet the Owner
My name is James Landriau, and I am the founder and owner of Endurance Recovery House. For the past five years, I have dedicated my career to the addiction treatment and recovery field, including operating sober living homes and working in residential addiction treatment facilities across every level of care. I am a New Jersey Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) and soon to be a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC).
I believe recovery is most effective when people are surrounded by support, accountability, structure, and individuals who genuinely understand what they are going through. My commitment to this work is also deeply personal. I entered residential treatment in September 2020 and have remained committed to my recovery ever since. My own experience has given me a firsthand understanding of the challenges of early sobriety and the importance of having the right environment and support system.
In 2025, I took a leap of faith and opened Endurance Recovery House with the goal of creating a safe, structured, and supportive community where residents can build the confidence, independence, and life skills needed for lasting recovery.
Life at Endurance
We are not a treatment center and we are not a bunkhouse. We are a home — with the structure, community, and clarity needed to make recovery last.
01
Consistent routines — mornings, meetings, meals, and evenings — that rebuild self-trust and healthy habits.
02
Shared living with men committed to the same journey. Encouragement, honesty, and camaraderie in every day.
03
Random testing, house meetings, and clear expectations — because accountability is how freedom is protected.
04
A practical path toward employment, appointments, responsibilities, and greater autonomy as residents prepare for independent living.
Voices From The House
Endurance gave me more than a place to live — it gave me a way to live. The structure kept me honest, and the guys here became family.
As a mother, knowing my son was somewhere safe, structured, and truly cared for changed everything. Endurance felt like home from day one.
I refer clients to Endurance because the accountability is real and the community is genuine. Outcomes speak for themselves.
